Experience Estonia by motorhome
Of course, there are a few cultural centres in Estonia despite the generally sparse population. The centrepiece of these - and probably one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe - is Tallinn. Around the Cathedral Hill and the impressive Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is probably one of the best-preserved medieval city centres in Europe. It is well worth taking a long walk to discover the magnificent buildings. If you want to get up high, you can let your gaze wander into the distance from the television tower. The town of Pärnu is also worth a visit, with its inviting sandy beach, wooden villas and impressive street art. The comparatively mild climate in the south of the country is also favourable.
A tour through Estonia in a motorhome can also be combined with a holiday in Finland or the directly neighbouring countries of Latvia or Russia.
Travel planning
St Petersburg, for example, is around two and a half hours' drive from the border. However, you should make all the necessary visa arrangements for any combinations a few weeks before travelling.
The network of campsites in the Baltic country is surprisingly large. In general, some visitors will be surprised by the progressiveness - for example in the digital sector - and the multilingualism. Many locals speak several languages, including English, Finnish, Russian and German. If you are travelling Estonia in a motorhome, there are several campsites to choose from. There are as many as three hundred across the entire country.
Many of them cater for motorhomes. The facilities at these campgrounds have been and are being modernised and upgraded in many places. Some facilities still have more of a rustic charm. Nevertheless, a great deal of effort and passion is being put into providing various amenities. While prices for pretty much all areas of life in Estonia are currently still comparatively favourable, this can be expected to change in the medium term. At the latest when a broader mass of people discover the natural paradise in north-east Europe for themselves.

Discover Estonia in a motorhome
Vanamoisa Caravan Park is one of the most popular campsites in Estonia. The modern site is located just a few kilometres southwest of Tallinn's city limits. This makes the site a good starting point for exploring the Estonian capital. A railway station just ten minutes' walk away ensures that the city is also easily accessible by public transport. The campsite itself, which offers around three hundred pitches, has a small natural swimming pool and sandy beach.
Camping Mändjala offers even more beach. This is due to the fact that it is only a few steps away from the Baltic Sea beach on the island of Saaremaa. This can be reached by a short ferry crossing. And it's worth it: the campsite is located in the middle of a pine forest. Even on the pitch, the sand provides the necessary holiday feeling - just like the various open-air catering options in summer. Around seventy pitches are available.
The 'Caravan & Camping Lepispea' is located in the Laheema National Park, also directly on the coast, near the small village of Vosu. Motorhome holidaymakers will find pitches on several small meadows in the well-kept grounds, which also include some small huts. The Baltic Sea, which is just a few steps away from the campsite, is less accessible. However, Vasu beach is only around one kilometre away and is a great place to spend a few hours in the sun.
To discover Estonia's most beautiful regions by motorhome, it is worth hiring a vehicle for several days. You can book the right motorhome directly on the CU | Camper website with just a few clicks. See the scenic beauty of Estonia for yourself and benefit from the fact that Estonia is still a real insider tip. We wish you a wonderful road trip.
