Experience France by motorhome
There are currently just under ten hire centres to choose from across the country. They are primarily located in the centre, south and west of the country. This provides quick and easy access to some of the country's most beautiful regions. When renting a motorhome in France with CU | Camper, interested parties can choose from various vehicle types at numerous stations. For example, if you want to visit the picturesque Provence, you can start from Lyon. In Provence, between Verdon and Nice, you will find the majestic Verdon Gorge, for example, which guarantees fantastic views. Equally attractive is the sea of colours that Provence offers visitors in summer. This is when the purple lavender blooms in numerous fields - a unique photo motif. Another well-known and absolutely must-see region of France lies in the very north-west of the country.
Of course, it is also a good idea to explore the hilly regions when travelling through France in a motorhome. The Côte de Granit Rose is particularly worth seeing - and accordingly well-known. The rocks at this coastal point are striking due to their colours and shapes. The picture is rounded off by a highlight - in the truest sense of the word. The Ploumanac'h n Perros-Guirec lighthouse adds the finishing touch to the scenery.
A third region of the country, which is always worth a visit, borders Brittany directly to the east. We are talking about Normandy. The Normandy coastline is not only famous for the arrival of the Allies during the Second World War. Spectacular chalk cliffs characterise the landscape in many places. The small monastery island of Mont Saint Michel with its towering buildings is a well-known photo motif. It lies just under a kilometre from the coast in the Wadden Sea and can now be reached via a footbridge regardless of the tide. The island is home to a monastery, a museum and around thirty inhabitants.
In the eastern regions of France, the picture is different again. The landscapes there are mountainous in many places - the French Alps rise into the heights there. Accordingly, Central Europe's highest peak, Mont Blanc, at over 4,800 metres above sea level, can be found in the region. In summer, many Alpine passes are attractive destinations - also for motorhomes. Depending on the weather and light conditions, they offer impressive scenic panoramas.
In addition to the fascinating and varied landscapes, France also has cities worth seeing. The ultimate in this respect is undoubtedly Paris. The country's capital is one of the most popular cities in Europe. Whether it's the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral or the Arc de Triomphe - many of the city's sights need no further explanation. The legendary and enormous Palace of Versailles is also not far from the city limits. Paris itself is also home to a rental station. It is therefore a good opportunity to explore France from / to Paris in a motorhome.
However, there are other exciting cities besides Paris, all of which have history, numerous sights and plenty of charm. These include Marseille, Nantes, Bordeaux, Nice, Lyon and Strasbourg. All of these cities offer a wide range of culture, cuisine (French cuisine generally enjoys an excellent reputation), shopping opportunities and sightseeing.

Discover France in a motorhome
There are numerous reasons for travelling through France in a motorhome. In addition to the beautiful landscapes and places mentioned above, the country boasts a very good infrastructure and a wide range of campsites.
It should be noted that tolls are charged for driving on many motorways. It is therefore advisable to consider this issue before embarking on the tour and decide whether the tour should primarily take you along country roads or the country's motorways. France is also known for its numerous roundabouts. The driver(s) of the motorhome should therefore first familiarise themselves with the driving characteristics after picking up the vehicle.
More than nine thousand sites are registered - the internet is the best place to look for the best campsites.
In the southern regions of France, campsites of all sizes are often located directly on the Mediterranean. The Yelloh Village Le Brasilia is a popular campsite that can almost be seen as a bathing and adventure landscape. The huge site just a few kilometres north of the border with Spain offers everything motorhome holidaymakers could wish for - including direct access to the Mediterranean. With over four hundred pitches, the camping park is correspondingly large.
The Flower Camping De Reneville campsite is also in a picturesque location, but somewhat smaller and at the other end of the country. Right on the Normandy coast, holidaymakers are only a hundred metres away from the beach. Around one hundred and fifty pitches, which share the site with a few huts, offer a direct view of the Atlantic Ocean for the most part. The site also impresses with a wide range of other facilities for camper travellers.
For these campsites - and of course all others in the country - it is advisable to book your favourite campsite in advance during the summer months. Despite the large selection, it can otherwise happen that the pitches are fully booked if you try to book spontaneously. If this is taken into account, nothing stands in the way of an unforgettable holiday.
See for yourself and travel through this multifaceted country in a motorhome! You can search, compare and book numerous vehicles on the CU | Camper in France website.
