Our booking experience through CU | Camper was amazing. Not only did they offer the best price we could find but they were also extremely accommodating. Our first choice wasn’t available, so they quickly found us another, even better rental. I really enjoyed my experience with CU | Camper due to their quick and professional responses and clear communication.
They had excellent details about the campervan on their website, which allowed me to check and confirm all the necessary information before locking down my rental. This made a huge difference when I was first comparing rental companies, as some other sites lacked clear information or made details difficult to find. In contrast, CU | Camper’s site was intuitive, clear, and easy to navigate.
Being able to see the campervan layout with and without bedding simply by scrolling the page was a particularly helpful feature. It gave me a clear understanding of the available space in both setups. For someone who had never rented a campervan before, this was incredibly reassuring.
Paying for the van was also straightforward. CU | Camper offers PayPal payment, making it easy to pay with a credit card. Once the booking was confirmed, their email communication was excellent. All the critical information—where, when, and how to pick up the campervan—was presented clearly and in an easy-to-understand format.
When we arrived in Cairns, Australia to pick up our van, everything went incredibly smoothly. We had rented a Britz Discovery through CU | Camper, but upon arrival we were surprised to receive a complimentary upgrade to a Maui Cascade. In addition, the van was BRAND NEW as we were the first ones to drive it off the rental lot. Needless to say, our family was incredibly grateful and excited.
The Maui Cascade was a great campervan. It came fully equipped with a shower, toilet, microwave, stove top, refrigerator, freezer, kitchen sink, oven, outdoor grill, television, navigation system, plenty of outlets, kitchenware, coffee pot, two comfortable double beds, bed linens, pillows, two captain chairs for our kids, an awning, and plenty of storage for our four suitcases and four backpacks. It even included a detachable dining table that was easy to use.
For our family, the Maui Cascade was the perfect size. It wasn’t too large to drive, but it still offered enough space for us to live comfortably and sleep well.

It had everything we needed to cook delicious meals, and the outdoor grill was an incredible bonus. We loved using it to enjoy barbecues while we camped.
During our travels, we ventured all around Queensland. At Mission Beach and Etty Bay, we camped right on the beach, cooked and ate a delicious meal together, and then fell asleep to the sound of the ocean waves crashing.
Next, we drove to Babinda Boulders—an area of massive rocks where we swam in crystal-clear water surrounded by lush trees. After that, we headed to Murray Falls, where we spent a sunny afternoon hiking and later enjoyed pasta by the river.
Our final destination was the mountainous region around Wallaman Falls. I was a bit nervous at first driving up the narrow, winding roads, but the campervan was easy to maneuver and the engine was strong enough that I never felt it struggled to go up a mountain. Once we arrived, we camped in the forest and hiked to see one of the most majestic waterfalls I’ve ever seen.
For my first time renting a campervan, I can honestly say I’m now a lifelong fan. Having the freedom and flexibility to wander off anywhere and live among nature is an unparalleled experience. Our whole family truly enjoyed every part of the campervan experience, we’re already looking forward to doing it again.
